On behalf of BR Group, we ceremonially signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the University of Ostrava, aimed at systematically connecting the academic environment with the practical operations of an industrial holding.
The memorandum focuses on cooperation in research and development, expert analyses, technology and knowledge transfer, and education. One of the key objectives is to enable students to complete internships within BR Group companies, thereby strengthening their direct connection with real-world practice.
The cooperation will primarily cover the following areas:
- involvement of industry professionals in supervising final theses
- internship opportunities for students directly within the holding’s companies
- lifelong learning courses (LLL)
- joint research and development (R&D) projects
The signing of the memorandum builds on the existing cooperation between the University of Ostrava and the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic (Svaz průmyslu a dopravy ČR / Confederation of Industry CZ), as well as on previous working meetings with representatives of BR Group’s subsidiary companies.
The goal of the partnership is to further develop collaboration in areas where computer science, mathematics, chemistry, and other disciplines at the University of Ostrava naturally intersect — including overlaps with natural sciences and social sciences, for example in the field of market analysis.
The ceremonial signing was attended by:
For the University of Ostrava:
- Petr Kopecký, Rector of the University of Ostrava
- Martin Štěpnička, Vice-Rector for Science and Artistic Activities
For BR Group:
- Rudolf Bochenek, Owner of BR Group
- Jan Rafaj, Chief Executive Officer of BR Group and President of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic
- Radim Vidlář, HR Director of BR Group
We would like to thank all participants and look forward to further developing this cooperation, which connects industry with science and research in everyday practice.
